SlopgaugePrivacy Policy
In short
Slopgauge does not collect or share any personal data. It analyzes text inside your browser and sends nothing you read to anyone. It has no servers and no analytics.
What Slopgauge reads
To show its slop meter, Slopgauge reads the text of posts on the pages you visit. It also reads text you choose to check with the right-click menu or paste into its toolbar popup. It analyzes that text with rules that run in your browser, then discards it. The text is never stored and never leaves your device.
Google Docs
Google Docs draws documents on a canvas, so their text isn't available on the page. When you open a Google Doc, Slopgauge downloads that document as plain text from Google, the same as choosing File > Download > Plain text, using your existing Google session. That request goes only to Google, for a document you already have open. The text is analyzed in your browser and not stored or sent anywhere else. This is the only network request Slopgauge makes.
What Slopgauge stores
Only your settings, such as which sites and rules you turned off. They are kept in Chrome's extension storage. If you use Chrome sync, Chrome syncs these settings between your devices through your Google account. Slopgauge never stores the text of anything you read.
What Slopgauge never does
- Run servers or send your data to any server, including ours (we don't have any).
- Track you or show you ads.
- Share data with third parties.
- Load code from the internet. All of its code ships inside the extension.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
Slopgauge's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. It does not collect user data, so there is nothing to sell or transfer.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
